"My experience at beach seining event was not real."
I was born and raised in Tsuruga City in Fukui Prefecture, a port town by the Japan Sea.
It was many years later when I found out the shocking fact that fisher men had to pretend to get much fish for the beach seining experience, one of the annual events at my elementary school, but it turned out that they were catching the fish offshore beforehand because there wasn't much fish ashore.
I opened a sustainable seafood restaurant as my first step to let people know the situation in Japanese fish industry and to improve.
Although the concept of sustainable seafood has not been prevailing in Japan yet, we would like as many people as possible to enjoy our food and think about how we all can contribute to make Japanese fish industry sustainable.
◆The reservation is limited to the customers for meals.
◆The seats will be arranged by restaurants.
